The Heyward House began as a dream that Charlotte shared with her son, Cameron. Born and raised in the East End of Pittsburgh, she’s always been passionate about helping those in need, whether in her professional or personal pursuits.
The Heyward House has given her the ability to fulfill that passion on a scale that she hopes will leave a lasting impact on the communities and the city that she loves. “When Cam and I started talking about forming The Heyward House, we dreamt of the ways that we could make a difference. What followed exceeded those hopes – from working with kids in the child welfare system, to launching Craig’s Closet, to supporting backpack feeding programs for local kids in need. What excites me the most is that our work is just starting. This is just our first chapter, and I can’t wait to see where our story takes us next.” Charlotte can be reached at charlotteh@theheywardhouse.org. Eileen Stewart

Shannon joined The Heyward House in 2015, excited by the possibility of being a part of something that had its sights set on making a difference in the community where she was raised. She has over 15 years of marketing experience, from writing to corporate giving to program management. Shannon has been thrilled to use that experience to benefit causes that she is passionate about.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the people I’ve met through The Heyward House. From families and students to other organizations that are just as passionate as we are, it’s been wonderful to be a part of a team that is working together to make life better for our neighbors and community.” You can reach Shannon at shannon@theheywardhouse.org.
