HEYWARD HOUSE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

​If you’re interested in helping us as we work to improve the lives of local kids, we would love to have you on our team! There are a few ways you can get involved – read below to see if there’s a good fit for you.

Little Free Library Ambassadors 

​We have several libraries under our belt but we are looking to purchase and install more. You can help! Here's how:

• Have an idea for a great location?   Let us know at   [email protected]. We would like to focus on under-served communities and locations that receive foot traffic (like near a bus stop or community center) are ideal.
• Become a Little Free Library ambassador. Once the libraries are installed, we will need volunteers to check inventory, make sure they are organized, etc. If you're interested in serving as an ambassador, please contact   [email protected].

Once more of our  libraries  are up and running and staffed with volunteers, we will hold a book drive. Stay tuned for that announcement! 

Cam's Sacking Hunger Program

We are proud to announce that The Heyward House is providing a backpack of food for every student at Urban Pathways Charter School to take home on the weekends throughout the entire school year with our partners at The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank

​Craig’s Closet

​Craig’s Closet ensures that not having the “right” outfit isn’t a barrier to pursuing a dream. The program gives young men in the region access to free suits, ties, shoes, and more to wear to interviews, internships, banquets, graduation ceremonies… any occasion for which they want to look their best.
